Full Circle

The air is still and the waters are calm.
A false sense of serenity
Leading me on.

Unable to see clearly
as the fog rolls in
Surrounding me, confused
My world starts to spin.

The sky grows dark and the waters churn
The calm starts to fade, becoming the storm.
The waves loom above before  crashing down
Fierce and relentless watching me drown.

Turmoil wraps her arms around tight,
Squeezing and suffocating, with all her might.
Anger, confusion, disappointment, and pain
Emotions run wild amidst the rain.

Then the sky starts to clear
The waters are still
The storm has settled
The calmness, surreal.

Back where I started
Amazed at the calm,
Hoping it lasts
As I drift toward the fog.
