Cleansing

Heavy lids blink away the tears.A lonely tear escapes .
She can feel it's coolness trickle it's way down.
This lone tear brings her back to a place
20 years ago, abandoned and lost.
Her heart aches. The pain is numbing.
Tears flow over her bottom lid as one
pushes another down her face.
Her heart cries out.
It would be easy to brush away the tears
She doesn't.
Her breath becomes even and slow.
Her heart, quiet.
Her face feels cleansed
like a dewy morning glowing with sunlight after a storm.
